An aromatic blend of smoke and underlying sweetness. It has a scotch foundation with abundant sweet smoke on top. Unique, with fruit in the background. It's quite intense, tasting like barbecue. Points for being original.

About this bottle
Oola Smoked Whiskey debuted in October 2015 as part of the distillery's experimental Whiskey Discourse Series. This expression combines a young, peated Scotch sourced from the Highlands with Oola's own American whiskey. The American whiskey is made from a mash bill of corn, rye, malted barley, and wheat, similar to their bourbon recipe. The malted barley component is smoked using apple wood, cherry wood, and pieces of bourbon barrel staves.

Sweet wood smoke and dried fruit on the nose, smooth vanilla and smoky fruit on the palate, lightly smoked medium finish. This is delicious.
Sampled at a bar, pleased with the purchase. Notes of smoke, apples, pepper, vanilla, and a sweet caramel finish.
Bourbon sweetness complemented by subtle smoky nuances. Delicious!
