A good all-around whiskey. Aroma: malt, banana, citrus, sherry, freshly cut grass, sea air (less pronounced than the 12) and oily. It needs time to open up; all the flavors are balanced and create a fantastic composition!

About this bottle
Old Pulteney's travel retail selection was updated in late 2018 with the introduction of the Old Pulteney 16 Year Traveller's Exclusive, following a recent overhaul of the main product line. This whisky initially matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in ex-oloroso sherry casks.

Nose: sherry. Palate: warming, spicy, salty. Not much vanilla. Still drinking the initial pour, and there's a lot of it left.
Citrusy aroma with mineral/salty notes and a few hints of cherry. The taste has a noticeably high alcohol content, with a long finish featuring vanilla and candy flavors.
The alcohol content may have been a bit excessive for my liking
