Old Potrero's 18th Century Style Whiskey undergoes a six-month finishing period in former stout barrels, a process that began in September 2017. These barrels previously held rye whiskey, then apple brandy, and most recently, stout beer for one year. The base whiskey, aged in new, toasted American oak, is presented in a limited California-exclusive bottling at 55.4% ABV.

Acceptable. There's initial heat, but water smooths it out. The color is like extra filtered honey. The aroma is nice, with some spice, perhaps cinnamon followed by vanilla. The mouthfeel is full before finishing. Nothing remarkable, and I likely wouldn't repurchase, but it's not terrible; I've simply had better.
This was thoroughly enjoyed; it's a spirit that hits all the right marks. The taste of apple and subtle hops invites another drink. NO dilution is necessary, as you'll want to appreciate this drink's complete character. Definitely worth finding. Davidson's W&S in SF $99
Okay in many ways, very sweet. The problem is that the dominant note is something like dirty socks, or something similar. It's certainly enhanced by many other, more pleasant notes, but unfortunately, I can't shake that sock-like impression:/
