The aroma is rich with ripe fruit and scorched wood, complemented by vanilla, molasses, brown sugar, and a floral rye spice that ties it all together. Very well-balanced, with a different note becoming prominent with each swirl. It's delightful to keep exploring and makes you anticipate the next sip. The taste is somewhat dry but has a satisfying chewiness as ripe fruit, charred oak, and a hint of brine reach every part of your mouth. Vanilla and a sharp sweetness from molasses follow, balanced by a wave of mild baking spices. It concludes with floral rye spiciness filling your mouth, leaving a very pleasing warmth. The finish is lengthy and spicy, with cinnamon and rye keeping your mouth buzzing while scorched oak and cooked brown sugar recede into the background. For its age, this is a truly exceptional rye at 4 years and 9 months. Powerful spiciness is supported by perfect levels of oak and sweetness. This is definitely something to savor, but it would be understandable if the bottle vanished quickly.
