Old Forester's The 117 Series, launched in spring 2021, explores innovation and experimentation. This Kentucky straight bourbon adheres to the 1897 Bottled in Bond Act, originating from the spring 2014 distilling season and aged for a minimum of 4 years in a U.S. bonded warehouse. Bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), this limited edition is offered in 375ml bottles starting July 18, 2023, at the Old Forester Distilling Co. shop, through direct-to-consumer sales in certain states, and at select Kentucky retailers.

Found this at the distillery after selecting a single barrel, barrel proof. Nose: Old-fashioned cherry and vanilla cola. Pepper. Sweet - like iced oatmeal cookies. Taste: More of the cherry/strawberry shines through. A good amount of spice. Tastes like strawberry unfrosted pop-tarts. Finish: Pleasant, medium length, sharp. A classic fruity Old Forester.
The aroma is of sweet molasses and blackberry pie, very rich and fruity. On the palate, sweet oak, leather, and tobacco are the first sensations, followed by an amazing mouthfeel. That sweet berry molasses returns for a pleasant medium to long finish. Truly enjoyed this.
Deliciously oaky and satisfying. A little herbaceous.
