Nose: subtle, requires a good effort to detect, but pleasant notes of caramel apple, banana, & rum. Taste: great balance of oak & vanilla here, with another fruity note, perhaps a bit of apricot. Midway, the heat emerges with some peppery rye flavors. The heat then subsides, leaving an almost minty aftertaste. This proof is quite nice for sipping neat, easily enjoyable with or without ice/water. With an ice cube: tempers the heat and spice considerably, bringing out more caramel & pear flavor in the taste. Mellower overall, also very likable. Solid pour!
