Palate: Wood, ash, brown sugar, black pepper, chili, with citrus on the back end. Finish: Medium length finish with leather, damp wood, and bacon Frazzles. It sweetens in the aftertaste. Very woody. Distilled at Tomintoul distillery. Locally sourced peat provides a wood smoke character. Woodiness is prominent throughout. There's light, gentle peat and an old leather note at the end. It's sugary sweet with BBQ notes. It tied for third place among the six drams, receiving 10% of the votes for favorite of the night. 95% of attendees indicated they enjoyed the whisky.
