North British - 27 year Batch 3 (That Boutique-y Whiskey Co.)

I enjoy TBWC, but their consistent refusal to share cask details is becoming frustrating. Why the secrecy? I'm starting to relate to others experiencing a similar virtual whiskey journey. To avoid their fate, I aimed to find a good example from each distillery. This one received an average rating of nearly 5 stars on MoM from 5 reviews.....unbelievable! Of the roughly seven I've tried today, this is easily my least favorite. It tastes like sickeningly sweet cough syrup. I'm giving it a 2.5, though I suppose it's balanced (after considerable dilution). And it's inexpensive... $60 for a 27-year-old seems like the best value I've ever encountered. However, that doesn't save it from a lower overall rating.

Completely undrinkable. Overpoweringly sweet, like pixie sticks. Fortunately, I only had a 1oz. sample.
