Cambus 24 year Batch 2 (That Boutique-y Whiskey Co.)

This is the second batch of Cambus single grain Scotch from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, and the first to include an age statement. The label now features a robin redbreast in the snowy landscape by the Cambus iron bridge, unlike the first batch. This bottling consists of 319 bottles. It greets you with an aromatic opening of lemonade, salted popcorn, polished oak, a touch of rye spice, fruit, marmalade, and red berry tea. Its character develops into a rich and spicy middle with notes of white pepper, spiced oak, butter, waxy citrus, and chocolate pralines, culminating in a warm, medium-length finish with hints of ripe peaches, pears, cinnamon, and spice. I feel like I'm in a time loop regarding the number of Scottish Distilleries I still need to sample. Each time I think I'm nearing the end, the count remains the same... so after a careful inventory, I have exactly 7 more to go, and then I'm done until new distilleries emerge. Ah, grain distilleries... where would I be without them... likely drinking much better whiskey. I could reuse my review from any of the recent single grain reviews. It's balanced and not harsh, but those are the only positives. Sickly, like DR Pepper cough syrup... down the drain it goes. Rated 2.5.
