(Served straight and neat, no resting.) Sweet aroma, with pepper and heat on the palate, accompanied by a touch of fruit. The finish is sweet again, with a subtle hint of orange and sherry underneath. Not incredibly engaging? but I'll try it again after letting it sit or adding some water before using it as a mixer. It feels pretty reasonable for the price.

About this bottle
Introduced in 2011 to numerous global markets, excluding the US, this blended Scotch whisky matures solely in sherry casks that have been used only once. The malted components primarily come from Highland Park and The Macallan distilleries. The bottle lacks a typical label, featuring an embossed grouse instead. Important: This product was discontinued around late 2017 and was succeeded by a blended malt version.

A local store had this, which was unexpected as it's not commonly distributed in the US. They're getting another bottle soon, though this one is discontinued. While I prefer the original, this is certainly not a bad pour. It's just a touch too spicy for my preference.
My first whisky!! Pleasant and simple to consume, with an amazing sweet aroma. However, the taste is basic and doesn't leave a lasting impression. Overall, it's suitable for everyday drinking and beginner-friendly, regardless of the cost or flavor.
I enjoyed this considerably more than I anticipated based solely on the aroma. It smelled of butter, with hints of caramel and citrus. The flavor is rather smooth and sweet. A really great deal if it's around $30.
Day 9 of my 2017 advent calendar. This was a rather unusual scotch. Kind of like white grapes, kind of like apples, and a peculiar finish that didn't feel like scotch. Simple to drink, but not particularly delightful.
Another solid value. It's spicy and fruity. While not as outstanding as some other options in this price bracket, I wouldn't refuse it if offered again!
