I visited the distillery in October, 2022, and purchased a bottle. I've enjoyed it but haven't done a formal tasting until now. In the Glencairn glass, it has a very inviting, rich amber color. Nose: Dark fruits, rich honey, and notes of cinnamon and nutmeg are prominent. There are also some leathery and hay/grassy elements. Despite likely being a young spirit, it has a surprisingly rich aroma. Palate: It has a very pleasant oily mouthfeel. Rich dark fruits like plums and cherries with brown sugar are present initially, followed by spice. Pepper and cinnamon emerge next, along with a warmth that I attribute to its youth. This warmth is actually welcome, providing a nice contrast to the richness. Finish: Long and chewy, with a burnt brown sugar/caramel flavor. The pepperiness lingers, but interestingly, the sweetness from the brown sugar persists even longer, creating a delicious balance of sweet and spicy. Considering it's likely a relatively young spirit, I think it's excellent and have thoroughly enjoyed every pour from my bottle. I definitely recommend this one, and great job Denmark!
