Penelope Lankford 2.8

Nose - Vanilla, toffee, honey, honey buns, bit-o-honey candy, light nougat, unripe berries Taste - Vanilla/toffee sweet bread, a touch of white pepper heat, mild bitterness, a hint of grainy sourness/acidity, charred unripe pineapple Finish - Lingering warm tingle, faint honey/fruit sweetness, mild tartness from unripe fruits Score - 72/100 Overall - This was an intriguing dram because its aroma seemed to change as I sipped it. It began rather uninspired, mostly tame vanilla & toffee, but developed to include this unripe fruit characteristic. This carried over to the palate; the initial sips seemed a bit dull, but as it sat in my mouth, it became slightly more complex, developing an odd unripe fruit acidity that wasn't unpleasant but was somewhat distracting. The finish is quite short, and you quickly forget the experience. Would I drink it if offered? - Perhaps Would I specifically order it? - No Would I buy a bottle? - No NOTE - All reviews are assessed independently of price.
