An incredibly mellow whiskey. The nose presents honey and oak scents with a nice citrus/floral sweetness beneath. The taste is superb. It's a very soft/mellow whiskey. Flavors of orange, candy apples, and mild baking spices. The whiskey concludes gently and lasts long.

About this bottle
Midleton Very Rare 2022 represents the second release overseen by Master Distiller Kevin O'Gorman and the 39th installment of this yearly series. This Irish whiskey is a combination of single pot still and grain whiskeys, aged for 12 to 33 years. The American oak barrels used for maturation were lightly charred, first-fill and refill ex-bourbon types. The chosen barrels were primarily sourced from Midleton's A2 warehouse, a traditional stone structure dating back to the 1860s.

A personal favorite. I especially appreciate the caramel and nougat aroma and the taste of praline, buttery biscuits, and toffee.
Caramel, sweet, with a toasted butter quality, smooth, and pleasant.
Neat: Good
