Midleton Very Rare 2019

Midleton Very Rare or Mediocre: Very Meh? Feels like the Blanton's of Irish Whiskey. Nothing to object to, nothing particularly noteworthy. Nose: Smells incredibly light. To the point where wetting my nose doesn't cause any burning. Flavor: Entirely muted. Far too low proof. Somewhat like diluted honey/honeysuckle syrup with a whisper of lemon grass and a trace of the tropical. No burn. Unchanging from start to finish. Nothing in the finish to recall it by. A waste of money, in my opinion.

I thoroughly enjoy this from the aroma to the taste. Its charred wood finish is mild with a whisper of sweet caramel. It has a super oily, almost cooling sensation upon the first taste. The flavors gradually develop, offering a sweet grassy flavor with an oaky caramel finish. It's truly a pleasant drink to savor. It feels like a comforting embrace at the end of your day. I highly recommend it.

Love it …very smooth and easy almost too smooth though. Does have a nice lingering spice on a very long finish. Definitely recommend just not sure if it’s worthy the price point. Many others I prefer at a quarter of the price

A single serving tasted from a friend. The aroma is fantastic, filled with oak, bubble gum, vanilla, and fruit. The palate is a bit of a letdown. It has barley sugar and tannic fruit, leading to a long but subtle finish.

On the nose: caramel and vanilla. Faint wisps of smoke. On the palate: smooth, a little smoky, with whispers of caramel. Finish: exceedingly smooth. Highly recommended if you can get your hands on it. Searched all over Ireland to try this.

A fruit flavor reminiscent of cherry, with minimal acetone and plenty of spice. The sharp and sweet taste is well-balanced, with a finish that echoes a Sherry cask.
