Amir Glaser 2.5

I've sampled numerous Middle West products and generally enjoy them; I've also tried many bourbon creams and usually like them as well, but the flavor profile of this one is simply unusual. It includes rum (???) which fundamentally alters and overwhelms the subtle taste of a typical bourbon cream, and not in a good way. It's difficult to discern their intended profile... I'll try this again... perhaps it's just the initial pour that's so odd, but for now, I'd suggest opting for other high-quality bourbon creams over this one. One observation: I've encountered very strange initial pours with other Middle West products, like the wheat whiskey, so I'll update this review on my next tasting. The price of the Middle West product is also higher than most others, which feels quite unjustified for the experience provided, in my opinion. Other highly recommended bourbon creams include Buffalo Trace, Boone County, Hard Truth Maple, and Hard Truth Peanut Brittle. Jim Beam and Ezra Brooks bourbon creams are merely acceptable.

Sanford Waldrop 3.0

A standard combination of caramel and vanilla, with a very subtle flavor and a smooth finish.

Daren Beard 4.3

Less rough and more polished compared to Buffalo Trace's bourbon cream

Kyle Braxton 3.5

The taste is adequate, it's alright
