About this bottle
For Tío Rey, the traditional tahona method is insufficient. Instead of being crushed by a large stone wheel, the roasted agave piñas are manually pounded into submission using wooden hammers. Following this manual process, the spirit is distilled in an olla de barro, an ancient ceramic pot still with a history potentially spanning millennia.
