McQueen Mocha Gin originates from Callander, Scotland, where the founders showcase their adventurous spirit through inventive gin creations. McQueen Mocha Gin is visually striking in a remarkable blue ceramic bottle with a raised embossed crest. This might have been an older or limited release compared to McQueen's current products. Bulgarian juniper is prominent on the nose, accompanied by a significant minerality and lime. It evokes the feeling of a cheerful summer day at the beach. In contrast to its vibrant aroma, the taste is smooth and deep, featuring a combination of juniper, vanilla, and grapefruit with subtle undertones of cocoa nibs and coffee. The finish genuinely resembles a mocha. It's delightfully peculiar. I appreciate unconventional flavor pairings, and McQueen Mocha Gin certainly fulfills that. I was concerned it would be an overwhelmingly sweet, artificial mocha flavor, and I'm very relieved it wasn't. I suspect this could rival vodkas in an espresso martini. The bottle boldly states their gin "can never be described as 'another gin'," and they are accurate in that assertion. I am eager to sample more of their creations. 7.5/10
