A special bottling from a barrel sharing arrangement involving Finger Lakes Distillery and Two Goats Brewing. Two Goats matured a Belgian Quad in used rye barrels, and then the McKenzie Straight Rye whiskey was matured in the barrel that previously held the rye and Belgian Quad. On the nose, expect honey, rye's peppery notes, and ripe raspberries. The palate presents spice, raspberry preserves, a thick sweetness reminiscent of barley wine, and oak. The finish is remarkably smooth given the 97 proof, with a persistent spicy note. This rye whiskey concludes beautifully, incorporating abundant fruit and a unique sweetness.
