Sweet honey and warming spices greet the senses. This spirit seems immature, masked by its cask treatment. It’s passable, but the aggressive oak presence, likely from young bourbon or new wood, makes it a challenge to sip, even for me. I appreciate the honey and spice elements, but in the end, I believe it requires further aging in the barrel or a more heavily charred cask. Nonetheless, it was purchased at a substantial discount, and at that price point, it’s an easy decision.

From the 2024 Advent calendar. Some vanilla from the oak is noticeable, but the high alcohol content makes it difficult to detect any finer nuances.
