Matsui The San-in

The aroma is a delightful mix of fruit and syrup. The palate is very delicate and mildly warm, with notes of tea, maple, and wood. The finish is also subtle and smooth, with a trace of baking spices.

A sweet nose that includes notes of pear and orange. Taste is significantly less sweet than the nose; green tea, with its slight bitterness, is most noticeable, with warm floral notes in the finish.

Very understated. A blend of pear and apple fruitiness. Smooth but lacking distinction. There's a hint of char I can't quite identify, yet nothing here compels me to pour another glass.

Pale in color and flavor, with a medium-light body. It strongly resembles scotch, as many Japanese whiskies do, but it only offers grain with some light bitter wood at the end. Not to my taste.

Initial aroma reveals notes of sweet cherries and figs. The first taste is smooth, with hints of cherry, light licorice, and subtle oak. It concludes with a mild citrus finish.

Tasted blind as part of Flaviar Advent Day 9. Light and fruity (lime, peach) but unremarkable and quite harsh/cheap tasting, with excessive ethanol burn in the finish.
