Throughout Africa, marula trees provide fruit for elephants, giraffes, and kudus, typically from December to March. The fallen fruit undergoes slight fermentation, and elephants are observed consuming large quantities. While the notion of elephants becoming intoxicated is a popular anecdote, it serves as the inspiration for this gin created by two Belgian individuals. The spirit, triple-distilled from an unspecified base, features botanicals including the fruit of the marula tree, coriander, lavender, orange blossom, and rose petals. Responsible consumption is advised for all drinkers.
