The Komagatake 2018 is my first whisky from the Mars distillery (I also own the 2019 and 2020 editions). Nose: Candy, banana, Haribo Bears, Fruit. Vanilla. Nice! Palate: Very smooth mouthfeel. More fruit. More Vanilla. Good sweetness. Oak! Finish: Medium long. Good bitterness. This is a pleasant and fruity dram. I really enjoyed it. Recommended!

Acquired in Hong Kong. This is a limited edition bottled at 48% alcohol, featuring a post-restart Single Malt Komagatake blend aged for at least three years in bourbon and American white oak barrels. A very pleasant aroma with notes of banana, pear, and fruit. These flavors carry through on the palate with added vanilla and a touch of light peat on the finish.
A vibrant golden yellow! Exhibits good intensity with tropical fruit notes like mango, pineapple, coconut, and yaca! Followed by a finish of light caramel and tobacco! Truly excellent and highly recommended!!
