Astonishing. Compared to the excellent yet straightforward Del Maguey Barril expression, this offers greater flavor complexity and a much thicker consistency. It has more metallic and earthy notes, and the agave finish, also found in the Del Maguey, is sweeter and fruitier here. It's the finest Maguey Melate expression I've encountered (among 20 others), rivaled only by Reina Sanchez's Tepextate, which is more on the fruit-forward side. This one is more robust.
