Shantel Lytle 3.0

When cocktails require pisco, this is my go-to selection (alongside BarSol). It offers sufficient character for mixed drinks without being too strong or harsh. The aroma is quite faint, showing notes of citrus and pepper. The taste has a light mouthfeel, revealing flavors of olives, licorice, and some sweetness, followed by a touch of bitterness. The conclusion is brief, with only a slight warming sensation. I wouldn't describe this as an exceptional pisco for sipping straight, but its true value lies in cocktails. I haven't encountered a recipe where it didn't excel, making it a great deal for the cost. Straight, I'd rate it closer to a 2.5, which is respectable, just not outstanding. However, its performance in cocktails elevates it to a 3.

This is my first Pisco. The aroma is fairly weak, but on the palate, there are tart, earthy, and smoky flavors with little ethanol burn. It’s not the kind of spirit I'd prefer to sip neat regularly, but I'm eager to use it in cocktails.

Dion Felder 3.3

Tastes tart like a grape. It's good in some cocktails, but I would not drink it straight.

Simply excellent in a Pisco sour.
