Rhea Travis 4.0

Nose: Fruitcake, cinnamon, cloves, dried fruit. Palate: Very sweet, apple, raisins, Demerara sugar, burned toffee, treacle, maple syrup. A rather savory note. Finish: Long and heavily sherried, intense, malty, tobacco, char, wood/oak, malt loaf. Wisps of BBQ smoke, leather and liquorice. A vehicle for sherry, but with complexity in the sugar and savory malt loaf alongside the sherried dried fruits. Chewy and unctuous mouthfeel. Reminiscent of what made a certain distillery famous back in the day. A very tasty and chewy sherry bomb. Placed first out of six drams, receiving 32% of the vote for favorite of the night. 76% of attendees enjoyed the whisky.
