The aroma is a sweet smoke with a bite from the high alcohol content, alongside bright floral and cereal malt notes, followed by peat and fresh oak. It's complex and rich, with faint hints of sulfurous bonfires and some ginger and pepper spice. The mouthfeel is rich and powerful, with meaty flavors and oiliness. The finish is long and warming. Adding water opens up hay and more complex peat on the palate, strengthening the floral notes. While usually not a fan of floral notes in whisky, they work beautifully here. The sweetness is substantial but never cloying. Some vegetal flavors are present, perhaps noticeable due to the relative youth of this no-age-statement dram. This is one of the most complex whiskys experienced, nearing 300 tasted. A subtle nuttiness begins to appear late. Any fruitiness is reminiscent of grapefruit, with a late arrival of maritime brininess. Smoke is consistently present. Honey and candied fruits emerge with more water. It handles a significant amount of water, which is recommended to be added gradually. It also has characteristics of fine pipe tobacco. In conclusion, this is among the most complex and interesting whiskys enjoyed, earning top marks for its complexity and for being a unique Islay offering. It might even be the finest from the island, depending on one's preference for floral notes. As always, your mileage may vary.

Aroma of dark chocolate and Christmas pudding. It reminds me of the initial taste of a dry pudding, where butter first hits your tongue, followed by the sensation of chewing on dry raisins and the pudding base. The initial scent was strongly of dark chocolate, then on the palate, it's butter and afterward spicy. It doesn't quite achieve the harmony I usually prefer.

Aroma: heavy peat, vanilla, a little sweetness, and some floral notes. Taste: intensely peated, quite spicy, with a hint of nuts. Finish: spicy and long. This is a young whisky, very pleasant to drink. The cask strength is effective, but a few more years in the barrel would make it exceptional.
