Its affordability is its only merit. Otherwise, the finish is harsh with a bland, weak, and metallic aftertaste. The wood notes are sharp and bitter. I'm not a fan, to be clear.

About this bottle
Produced at Tierra de Agaves Distillery, Lunazul Añejo is a tequila made from 100% agave. The estate-grown agave, with lineage traced to 1758, is cultivated just outside the town of Tequila in Jalisco. After harvesting the agaves between seven and nine years of age, they are cooked for one day and then shredded to extract their juices. The spirit undergoes fermentation with a unique Lunazul yeast, followed by double distillation in small batches. It is subsequently aged for 12 to 18 months in bourbon barrels.

This is my usual tequila. Twenty dollars and a pretty good anejo considering the cost! It has woody, oaky tastes with some heat. A good purchase if you want a quality drink that's affordable.
I've found Lunazul tequilas to be reasonably priced for mixing, and the añejo is pleasantly smooth and spicy for sipping, eliminating the need for salt and lime chasers.
The aroma isn't particularly strong, but it's incredibly smooth, starting with hints of agave that transition to an oaky finish.
Smooth, with a spicy sensation that follows.
Smoky and sweet.
