About this bottle

Neil Sands, an entrepreneur, and Tim Herlihy, an Irish whiskey ambassador and author, have launched Lost Irish in collaboration with Casa Lumbre. This debut release combines grain, malt, and pot still whiskeys, all traditional Irish styles. The spirit is matured in casks from Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, Oceania, and South America. It has an ABV of 40% and became available in select U.S. markets in November 2021, with plans for broader distribution in 2022. The suggested retail price is $39.99.

Aroma: Intense lemon, orange, and fig. Vanilla custard and a touch of fruitcake. Flavor: Bananas foster with subtle hints of apple and cinnamon. A very grassy, hay-like finish. A light touch of vanilla, caramel, and toffee. Adding water reveals citrus, woody oils, and flavors of burnt fruitcake. It's decent but not exceptional. The grain is clearly the primary element in the blend, though the malt and pot still contribute to its smoothness. It is a welcome sight to find this at a reasonable price point, rather than overpriced spirits that are not from the distillery.
