This British Columbian single malt, Lohin McKinnon Tequila Barrel Finished, is made using 100% Canadian malted barley and is finished in former tequila barrels after aging in oak, bottled at 43% ABV.

This might be the first spirit I've had finished in tequila barrels, quite distinctive, a subtle yet clear and flavorful addition to the taste. Like adding a string section to a band, it contributes something really good, complex, and special.
Despite high hopes, this was underwhelming. The flavor was just too subtle. Neither the scotch character nor the tequila notes were apparent. It had virtually no finish.
This malt offers a peculiar yet enjoyable experience, with agave and fresh vegetal notes complementing the malt's sweetness. Truly distinctive and quite excellent.
