Got a sample from someone I know. Glass: Glencairn, allowed to sit for 15 minutes. Color: Amber with medium-dark tones. Smell: Sweet maple, hints of oak, and deep fruit. Taste: Intense cinnamon spice dominates, erasing any subtlety. A substantial texture with a slight syrupy sweetness on the tongue's point. Aftertaste: Quite warm and extended. Added liquid: No new tastes emerge and the intense cinnamon spice is only slightly controlled. Final thoughts: 8.5/10 - Even with knowledge of the ingredients and alcohol content, the heat of this drink was unexpected. More aging in oak would have smoothed out some of the harsher aspects, but I appreciate the direction it's headed. Would be fantastic in a mixed drink.
