Nose: Lemon, vanilla, stone fruit, hay, grassy notes, anise Taste: Sugary, fruity, rather intense, sharp lemon/citrus, green apples, nutty, grainy Conclusion: A moderate finish. Piquant and sugary, black pepper, ginger, lemon, lightly roasted nuts. A sour note on the finish. Mildly numbing. Fruity, vibrant, and nutty. The general impression is immature and fiery, with abundant citrus and spice. It's acceptable, a decent dram, but a bit too vibrant and youthful for my preference. This spirit was crafted to be consumed as a young dram, with a different character being used for their spirit currently aging. Finished tied for second place out of the six drams, with 14% of the final vote for favorite of the night. 64% of those present stated they enjoyed the spirit.

The aroma has herbal notes, with a light-bodied taste of citrus and vanilla. It's a young spirit but lacks a strong new make flavor. The finish is medium length with tropical fruit notes. It's interesting but very basic.

I sampled this after enjoying a more recent, aged Lochlea. While the flavors are pleasant, this one strikes me as a bit too young and spirited.

Amir Bloom 3.5

It definitely tasted like a "young" whiskey, but had some nice flavor.
