Jaclyn Regalado 3.5

A new offering from Lochlea, an interesting release. At 46% ABV, it drinks well without needing water, in my opinion. It's unfiltered, has natural color, and the port cask imparts a slight reddish tint. Nose - Opens with notes of gingerbread, a subtle copper touch, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Hints of Maraschino cherries appear, followed by raspberries and a whisper of fig. Taste - A creamy mouthfeel. Importantly, the ex-Port casks haven't left a dominant wine-like character. The palate reveals notes of breakfast tea, licorice, and whole grain bread. Then, raisins, cloves, and plums emerge. Finish - Medium in length, with cinnamon and a touch of pepper.
