46% ABV, non-chill filtered, with added coloring. Nose: Offers notes of apple, orchard fruits, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a faint trace of smoke. Palate: Reminiscent of baked apple dessert (like apple pie or Danish with a hint of lemon), with generous amounts of cinnamon, nutmeg, fall spices, and a touch of ginger. Finish: Medium-short, featuring vanilla fudge and a subtle, clean wisp of smoke. I've had this bottle for nearly eight months. With time to breathe, it has transformed from what my wife and I initially called "fall in a bottle" to something more akin to an autumn dessert. When first opened, it presented more like fresh red apple or apple cider with abundant cinnamon and a subtle smokiness, evoking a crisp fall day spent apple picking. Now, it delivers a delightful baked apple pastry with strong spice notes. The fudginess, completely undetectable initially, emerges from beneath the smoke that once concealed it. This is a straightforward whisky that delivers on its label's promises. The quality is evident, with just enough unique character to make it stand out. I've thoroughly enjoyed it, to the extent that I purchased a second bottle before finishing the first. Considering the price point, Loch Lomond has succeeded in producing a quality, mid-range, age-stated whisky at an accessible cost. Paired with its seasonal appropriateness, this could be a popular choice.

Nose: Chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, oak, honey, green apples. Palate: Chocolate, cinnamon, plums, honey, apples. Finish: Chocolate, plums, oak, vanilla. Excellent aging process, especially with the port casks. The foundation of the 12-year-old expression is discernible, but it's now elevated significantly.

The primary flavors are oak and peat. A slight sweetness follows. I don't detect the spiced apple mentioned on the packaging. It's quite enjoyable if you're in the mood for a peaty whiskey.

The aroma is like brown sugar melted in butter. The taste is sweet and rich. The finish has vanilla, cinnamon, and cardamom.

After attending a masterclass and tasting aged expressions of 12, 14, 18, and 21 years, the 14-year-old offers the best value for money in my opinion.
