Nose: Citrus, tartness, wood polish, dried grass. Palate: Dried plums, graininess, oak, brandy, spice, lemon candies. Finish: Moderate length. Ginger, black pepper, grape reduction, brandy-soaked apples. A souring sensation lingers. A delightful, spirit-forward whisky. One might easily mistake it for a Calvados, though it possesses a more peppery character throughout. It underwent a six-month finishing period in a French brandy barrel. Single cask Distilled: June 2008 Bottled: 2021 Limited to 380 x 50cl bottles. It tied for last place out of the six drams, with zero percent of the final vote for favorite of the night. Ninety percent of those present indicated they enjoyed the whisky.
