About this bottle

Leopold Bros. combines sweet Rocky Mountain blackberries, juiced and added to their standard rye and corn sour mash whiskey. The blackberry juice provides natural coloring, and the whiskey is finished in used bourbon barrels. It is bottled by hand in Denver, Colorado.

Adelyn Coley 2.5

A little too sugary, and the blackberry flavor can be overwhelming. I'd prefer more malt flavor with other tastes able to come through besides the blackberry.

Jaclyn Siegel 3.0

Blackberry that has been fermented hits the nose. It's extremely sweet, similar to jam. Hints of toast are present. It reminds me of a pastry.

Julius Schreiber 4.0

Pleasantly sweet without artificiality. Excellent for slow enjoyment over ice, and even better in mixed drinks.

Percy Stallings 3.5

Dark fruit and molasses notes intermingle with chocolate. A tart berry emerges on the palate, leading to a bourbon-like finish.

Keith Knutson 2.0

It's enjoyable, but I don't detect whiskey characteristics; it reminds me more of wine.

Micah Horan 1.0

Too much. Tastes almost like Boone's Farm.
