A miniature of Uruguay's first single malt, Larnaudie, was given to me by Alfredo Poggi, a whisky enthusiast and friend from Uruguay. On the nose, I detect peaches, apricots, and maize. It seems a bit young, with detectable notes of yellow apple. The palate offers an apple profile, reminiscent of cider, with distinct yellow apple notes. The finish is dry and astringent, with lingering peach notes. Overall, I truly value the creation of single malts in this part of the world. I believe they are initiating a new, flavorful movement, and this spirit will likely improve significantly in the coming years. My score is 80 out of 100.
