Cesar Mendoza 3.8

This is a decent lightly aged agricole. The aroma is pleasant, with notes of honey, grass, perhaps a hint of lemon, alongside richer scents like cinnamon, nutmeg, and even a touch of dried cherry or raspberry jam. There's also an element that reminds me of aged agricole, difficult to define, like a sharp scent somehow softened or 'crumpled.' It's a potent aroma with a noticeable alcohol presence if inhaled deeply. The flavor is less intricate but still good, featuring honey, oak, and pleasant spice, plus a slightly rubbery quality often found in aged agricole. A distinct alcohol burn is present. The finish is warm, spicy, and somewhat sharp. It's alright for sipping, though a bit hot, but makes a delicious ti punch vieux. For a liter at $40, it's one of the most economical aged agricoles I've encountered, and I'd probably buy it again. Note: I believe the details provided here are inaccurate. I'm posting the review under the correct name, 'La Favorite Ambre,' but the image shows a different bottle ('vieux' instead of 'ambre'), and the classification is wrong (this is élevé sous bois, not vieux).
