La Clandestine Absinthe is crafted in the Swiss or blanche style, also known as "la bleue," in Couvet, Switzerland. Locally sourced grand wormwood and other herbs are employed in its distillation. This product is entirely natural and is bottled at 53% ABV.

A semi-sweet, herbal liqueur from Switzerland by Claude-Alain Bugnon. It has an aromatic start with notes of anise and flowers, leading to a complex profile with fennel, anise, sugar, wormwood, floral, tea, licorice, and herbs. It finishes lightly sweet and drying with a medium length. Tasted June 2017 and March/August 2018.
I don't particularly enjoy it in the traditional preparation. It has an extremely strong anise flavor, like exaggerated licorice. However, it's essential for making a Sazerac.
Less intense than other absinthes. The botanicals are not as pronounced. Overall, quite enjoyable.
