This tasting isn't very helpful. I sampled this during the snowpocalypse/snowmageddon (2019-02-04/05) but didn't manage to take any notes. It was a bottle that had been on a coworker's shelf for about eight years, so I have no idea about its storage conditions; it could have been awful or perfectly preserved. Regardless, it was interesting and quite good. I can't say I loved it or had any truly informed opinions since it was my first baijiu, but I detected a lot of licorice (or perhaps anise) mixed with a damp earthiness and various other unusual flavors. It's certainly a complex drink, and not one I would purchase at the prices I'm currently seeing, but it's definitely worth trying. If I had to estimate now, I'd likely place it between 14 and 18 (out of 23), but I won't assign a specific score given my lack of notes and the time that has passed since I tasted it.
