The aroma hits with rye – obviously – plus a scent like clean laundry airing out in the sunshine, apple, vanilla, caramel, confectioners' sugar, and plum. The palate delivers sweet confectioners' sugar, vanilla, dark cherry, rye, and a whisper of oak. Despite its potency, it begins rather mellow, but the finish turns more intense. Adding water unlocks notes of cinnamon and additional oak. An excellent execution.

Enjoyed neat from a small sample provided by a friend. The nose is fruit-forward with notes of dark maraschino cherries, plum, sherry, vanilla, mint, and rye. The palate starts spicy but then becomes smooth and delightful with notes of brown sugar, vanilla, mint, and cinnamon. It leaves attractive trails in the glass.
A blend of 95% MGP rye aged for at least 4 years and 51% rye from Tennessee aged for at least six years, bottled at barrel proof. Flavors include caramel, fruitcake, vanilla, oak, cherry, and rye bread. The finish is lingering.
Cotton candy aroma. Smooth entry with currant and a floral bouquet finish.
Really good and delicious! Even superior to the straight rye version.
