Nose Prominent cereal notes, with an earthy and slightly pungent character. A touch of anise is present. Palate An initial wave of sweetness is immediately followed by a grainy bitterness, yet with a hint of honey. Hints of leather and heather are also noticeable. Finish Somewhat prolonged, but with a bitter quality. It transitions into a subtle malty characteristic that lingers on the back of the palate. Overall, it offers good value for a 16-year-old single malt scotch, but I would prefer to allocate the same amount of money towards a different style of whisky, or spend more to acquire a different single malt.
