I have a fondness for Kilchoman and always wish I had purchased more of their releases. Fortunately, I acquired a 2023 fino sherry edition, bottled at 50% ABV. It presents pineapple, peaches, and ashes on the nose. The ashes are peppery, reminiscent of a full cigarette. There's also pepper and a fish note. Quite spicy. The palate is like cigarette water. It has an acidic quality, similar to farm fruits, and a salty character. After the initial taste, I detected peach halves in syrup. The finish is smoky and ashy, with a strong spicy and ashy presence. Overall, it's a solid release. I had hoped for a bit more complexity at 50% ABV, but it still provides some intriguing and clear flavors. 87 out of 100.

The nose is a bit unusual with cinnamon as well. The palate is sweet with more cinnamon, which also dominates the finish. There's not much peat or smoke. Another solid bottle from Kilchoman.
