-= Oregon Oak Rested =- Aroma reminiscent of maple syrup, with hints of light brown sugar and wisps of vanilla. It smells distinctly sweet, like soft, smooth caramel candy. Flavor: My first impression is "spicy caramel." It's definitely on the sweeter end for rums. I detect vanilla-like caramel on the retro-hale. Its proof is a bit too high for me to sip smoothly and enjoyably. It's best used as a mixer, especially when sweetness is desired. The vanilla is more prominent when mixed. This spirit has the characteristics of a younger rum. To me, this is a $35 bottle; that would be a more appropriate price for what it offers. Rating based on drinking it neat.
