Among the Diuriachs, the waters encircling the Isle of Jura are renowned for their mystical, rejuvenating qualities. While it is unlikely that age-defying qualities are actually distilled at Jura Distillery, this particular expression might still feel like an Elixir of life. This single malt Scotch whisky has been matured in both American white oak and sherry casks, and bottled at 40% abv.

The aroma is intensely sweet with notes of citrus, mandarin orange, apricot, and honey. It's mild and a bit bland, but has a pleasant touch of sweetness, lightness, gentle oak, and vanilla cream, making for an enjoyable drink. The finish is non-existent, with no peat and a bitter, woody aftertaste. It's worth getting if it's inexpensive, as it offers a good, balanced mixture.
The nose has hints of vanilla, honey, caramel, and dessert wine, with a subtle touch of smoke and sea at the end. The flavor is dominated by sweet notes initially, like caramel and toffee, finishing with lingering vanilla.
The aroma is superior to the taste. Almond, vanilla, and banana on the nose. The palate has wood with a hint of spice. The finish is weak and short.
I tried it via a dram sample. It's good. Kind of sweet, not too spicy. The aroma is similar to Highland Park 12, but the taste isn't as polished.
