Smelled sweet peppers, brown sugar, maple syrup, and candied nuts. The taste was initially a bit rough, though I think that was just unexpectedness. Earthy and vegetal notes came through with hints of pepper and wood. Later thought: I was surprised by the profile considering my palate isn't very experienced with rums. I anticipated a sweet ending, which this didn't deliver. However, the thin, dry finish that leaves you wanting more was a new sensation! Looking forward to trying the other two rums purchased together, completing a set of three from Jung & Wulff at the Sazerac house in NOLA.

Smells like vanilla, oak, caramel, black pepper, and molasses. It's light on the tongue, a little spicy and sweet, with notes of caramel, vanilla, black pepper, and oak.
