Appearance: The bottle has a green label and a dark wood cap, adorned with lovely intertwined gold ribbons. Nose: A whiskey novice, particularly one accustomed to bourbon, will detect some distinct differences here. I pick up hints of pine and eucalyptus, with an underlying fruitiness reminiscent of apple and pear. Palate: This whiskey feels light on the palate but has a lasting finish. It begins with a hint of mint and herbs, transitioning to mild fruit in the middle. The finish features white pepper and lingers briefly before gently fading. To sum up, I find this to be a very refreshing and enjoyable rye. However, considering the price, I believe there are other options I favor more. I bought this during a visit to the distillery in Tennessee when their signature straight whiskey was sold out. I'm glad I got a bottle but might explore different choices on my next visit. Additionally: When enjoyed with a light pipe tobacco, the palate reveals an almost sweet peaches and cream flavor.
