Journeyman Field Rye

Unusual, but worth experiencing. Personally, it's a favorite. The nose is a little intense. The palate is syrupy sweet from the fig. Almost like jam. Tastes like a Manhattan straight from the bottle. But with sour bitters in the finish that leaves a spiced taste in the mouth. It's very unlike most whiskeys but worth trying.

Clearly fruity, but not in a low-quality way. A bit of a bite, but remarkably smooth overall. If you wanted a breakfast bourbon, this would be it. Bought in Carmel, Indiana over the holidays, currently having trouble finding it sold anywhere in NYC

Remarkably smooth for a rye. The nose is fruity, likely from figs. Fruit flavors carry onto the palate, accompanied by rye spice notes. It has a full mouthfeel and minimal burn. A very unique and pleasing rye whiskey.

A joint effort with the Field Museum in Chicago. Figs were used as a sweetener. Someone commented, 'Tastes like tea.' It's too sweet for me to consume in large quantities.

I'm quite fond of this beverage! The fig flavor is very prominent!
