About this bottle

This particular bottling features bourbon from Olde York Farm that was fully matured in new, charred American oak. It then underwent a secondary maturation period in barrels previously used to hold black walnut syrup, which was sourced from trees on the distillery's grounds.

Sipped without ice: initial spice, followed by sweetness, nuttiness, and a smooth finish with a faint spice note at the conclusion. The taste persists slightly and is somewhat sweet. Served with ice: the spice vanishes, revealing just the smooth, subtly sweet, nutty character. The walnut syrup casks are undeniable for those who prefer sweeter profiles. It's a great choice for sipping during or after a meal, though a full bottle might disappear quickly. Really enjoyable!

I don't care for this one, but that's not to say it isn't good (a companion enjoys it just fine). The walnut essence is quite pronounced, limiting its use in cocktails that call for bourbon. I would not purchase it again, but if you are a big walnut enthusiast, you might want to try it (just do not plan for it to substitute for a standard bourbon).

Naomi Medina 4.3

Pleasant initial sensation, you experience the syrup on your tongue first. It transforms into a smooth bourbon. The walnut flavor is detectable throughout. I don't love the lingering taste, but it's great overall.

Clarissa Leslie 4.0

A delightful nutty flavor persists throughout, concluding with a very smooth finish. I could have enjoyed more than one serving!

Todd Kong 4.5

Very smooth, nutty, and flavorful, perfect for satisfying a sweet craving! I definitely would have enjoyed another serving!

Brody Rand 3.0

A bit too sweet for my taste but good rich flavor. Fairly viscous on the palate for an 80 proofer.
