The flavor of cherry, when combined with a distilled spirit, can often taste medicinal. That is not the case here. The flavor is natural and juicy, with a substantial ripe fruit character. The whiskey itself complements and enhances the cherry flavor by providing the inherent spice from the rye. The body is medium, but the finish is quite prolonged, concluding with dark cherry and a subtle nutty essence. We are very fond of this whiskey and would appreciate its widespread availability.

Big cherry taste, but not like medicinal syrup. It's smooth enough to drink straight, though it really shines in a mixed drink like a cherry old fashioned. The whiskey character isn't very prominent, as the cherries dominate. If you're into sweet, fruity profiles, this is a solid choice.
