I truly wanted to enjoy this. The distillery is quite close to my university. However, this is genuinely unpleasant. I dislike peat and smoke. Consequently, their choice to incorporate charred pecans during aging renders it a complete failure for me. I detect virtually no classic 'rye' characteristics. A minuscule amount of pepper, no dill, nothing. It presents as Sharpie on the nose and campfire on the palate. I anticipate setting this aside until friends who enjoy scotch visit. Perhaps they will find it agreeable. Unfortunately, I cannot.

Smooth and light at first, dry with a spice throughout. A hint of pecan is present in the aftertaste.
